The growing vacancy rate (14%in the Netherlands )is not limited to offices, but also affects cultural heritage, industrial buildings, churches, offices, shopping streets and parts of our inner-city landscape. The structural redevelopment of the vacant properties, in the current economic climate, is not easily organized. Government cutbacks, hesitant investments from the market, negelected properties and conflicting environmental legislation make property redevelopment an unprofitable alternative. What are the opportunities of the temporary redevelopment of properties? What is the potential of vacancy?
